2025 Philly Select Baseball Recap: A League that is here to stay

The league’s focus is to complement the rigorous tournament schedules these teams already provided, offering a localized platform for pure baseball. Games were played without time limits, except for fields without lights, ensuring up to 2 hours and 15 minutes of uninterrupted play during weekend matchups. Thoughtful scheduling minimized back-to-back games and limited doubleheaders to safeguard players’ health and safety, especially pitchers.

This League is special in that it allows a great mix of Local Township talent that stay together and area Academy Teams to play against each other. We love the idea of a township team staying together after their little league journey and transitioning into our league. We continue to finds ways to make this league a long standing tradition in the area, with the focus being Consistent games and making the players and coaches the focus of the League.

Season Highlights:

Weather always seems to work its way into a summer season. We played with rain much of the summer, despite its challenges we over came and had a great year 3. We had the Philadelphia Baseball Review fully involved this season with articles and game recaps being done throughout the summer. They captured content from our players and coaches in the league and told some really great on the field and off the field moments.

The 15u Boilermakers completed an undefeated season and a championship win! The addition of a 16/17u division was a big step for us as we continue to find ways to get all age groups involved. This will provide a stepping stone to having all our teams grow within our league and make the High School divisions the most competitive games in the area. Our 14u Division, was believed to be the most competitive division. Great baseball was played and the championship came down to a walk off win in extras!! We had our biggest division participation at the 13u level. 18 teams duked it out all year and created a bunch of quality games amongst the group.

Finally, The collegiate Division was some of the best baseball to watch in the area. We had a great mix of Division 1 to Juco talent displayed each week. Talk about a pathway for all our players who participate in our league. You can now play in our league from the time you are 13 years old until you graduate college!

Looking Ahead to 2026:

Always building on the lessons from previous years, the upcoming season promises exciting improvements for players and coaches alike. Philly Select Baseball League aims to become both a supplement to tournaments and a premier destination for competitive baseball in the Philadelphia area. We will continue to provide a service that allows coaches and players to show up and just play baseball. We’re committed to fostering relationships, enhancing the player experience, and creating a tradition of excellence for years to come.

We can’t wait to see you on the field for another amazing season of Philly Select Baseball!
